Central Park in Fall

Destination: Fall and You

As we move into November, we’re beginning to witness the picturesque scenes of fall foliage taking over the city. Whether you’ve taken the ferry out to Manhattan or are wandering close to home, there are plenty of parks and viewpoints to explore with your RiverHouse 9 Passport.

Central Park

Peak season for the timeless fall foliage image in Central Park is late October and early November. Start your journey away from the tourists at North Woods, a forested area with hiking and biking trails, where you can witness the secluded beauty of nature. From here, make your way toward Shakespeare Garden, where you’ll find a four-acre garden reminiscent of the English countryside. Lastly, before heading out, be sure to stop by Wagner Cove to strike a pose with the Manhattan skyline and vibrant trees behind you.

The Highwood roofdeck

The Highwood

After your excursion through Central Park, take the ferry across the river and stop for lunch at The Highwood. This spot creates a rustic ambiance and embraces the beauty of fall by incorporating fresh and seasonal ingredients into their menu. Be sure to reserve a table on the patio for glistening views of the stunning Manhattan skyline.

Old Glory Park

If you’re up to wander further, take a stroll through Old Glory Park. This elevated walkway is embraced by a treeline dotted with vibrant red, yellow, and orange leaves to compliment your fall day aesthetic. This is a great spot, close to home, where you can take visitors for towering views of New York City complimented by the glow of sunset as your backdrop.

S'mores kit
