Destination: Midtown and Upper East Side

When you live at RiverHouse 9, you can feel the allure of the city drawing you in to break away from your everyday. With our front yard facing Midtown and the ease of ferry access at our doorstep, we have all the plans you need to set out for a special event.

One of the special benefits of access to Midtown is being the first to see the latest on Broadway. Reward yourself with tickets to Bruce Springsteen on Broadway which just reopened Broadway doors last week. Or if you are in the mood for something featuring fierce women choose from Six, Chicago or Tina.

Make it a day to celebrate ground-breaking women and head to the New York Historical Society Museum & Library to check out the exhibit featuring Katherine Graham of the Washington Post. Graham’s impact looms large as influencer of hard journalism and polite society. Her savvy ability to play the two off of each other will keep you riveted as you explore her life and legacy. When you’ve had your fill, head over to Safe/Haven: Gay Life in 1950’s Cherry Grove, an outdoor exhibition showcasing the gay sanctuary through lively photos and ephemera.

Jacob's Pickles Sandwich

When you’ve had your fill of history it’s time to reward yourself with southern comfort food at Jacob’s Pickles. Named one of the top restaurants by Time Out NYC, the restaurant is known for its rustic setting, homestyle food and handcrafted cocktails. Try their celebrated fried chicken on a Caesar salad or splurge and get it on a buttermilk biscuit—don’t forget the pickle! Go classic and pair it with Dirty Aphrodite Martini or live a little and get the Spicy Brine Margarita.

After your filling meal, it seems prudent to walk to the show. Luckily you left time to walk through Central Park. There is nothing more New York than the combination of scene-stealing nature mixed with children playing, tourists exploring, street artists entertaining and vendors selling their wares. As you come out the other side, you arrive at Midtown in all of its light-filled splendor and for a moment you see it as the tourists do. Then you make your way to the theater for your long-awaited show.

From exploring the city for the day to getting cozy in your lavish apartment, RiverHouse 9 wants to make every day your best. Interested in learning more about our luxury lifestyle on the riverfront? Schedule a tour with us today!
