Butcher's Daughter Dinner

Destination: West Village

West Village is well rounded with plenty of activities to dive into. From clothing boutiques to home goods, pop-culture landmarks to off-Broadway, you can experience anything you dream all at your own pace – all you need is your RiverHouse 9 passport and this neighborhood guide.

If you’ve read our previous wander-style blogs, you probably know we like to start our day with a hearty, and sometimes healthy brunch. In West Village you’re presented with a sea of options, but our favorite is Butcher’s Daughter. Being one of the most popular vegetarian destinations in Manhattan, the food is delicious and will give you the proper fuel for your day exploring the town – don’t worry non-vegetarians, you’ll love it! Among their new autumn menu favorites are the coconut yogurt & figs, roasted baby carrots with cashew crema, fall grain bowl, and butcher’s burger.

Once you’ve had your breakfast and coffee, it’s time for a light stroll… and shopping. If you’re looking to revamp your beauty routine head to Le Labo on West 4th St. for a wide selection of luxurious soaps, perfumes, and creams. With your shopping bags in hand, stroll down West 4th St. and turn the corner at Perry St. to channel your inner Carrie Bradshaw and strike a pose on the steps of her brownstone apartment.

Love Shack Fancy outfit

After a brief Manhattan socialite moment, head to Love Shack Fancy for all your bright and vibrant fall essentials. While most wardrobes are dressed in earthy browns and greens, this renowned boutique serves knits in adored blush pink and cream colors to add a splash of fun to your fall closet. Next, head further down Bleeker St. to get your hands on Diptyque’s limited edition Paris candle to bring a woodsy smell to your apartment home. Top off your shopping list with a good read from Three Lives & Company to complete your shopping spree on Bleeker St. For a more complete list of our favorite shops on Bleeker St. be sure to check out our Destination: SoHo blog.

Lortel Theater

Now that you have your favorite outfits and home goods, treat yourself to dinner and a show. For refined appetizers and tasty entrees, make a reservation at Employees Only, then be sure to see an off-Broadway show at the Lucille Lortel Theater. This October, 2018 Pulitzer Prize winner Martyna Majok presents Sanctuary Cities, a story that will leave you questioning what you’re willing to sacrifice for the people you love from the perspective of dreamers and immigrants attempting to make a life for themselves in America.

For a more comedic show, Colin Quinn: The Last Best Hope will definitely give you a laugh. He dissects American politics, giving a comedic voice to the oftentimes dreary topics discussed on the news: ”In a society where there are too many voices, Colin Quinn offers up his voice as the only one that needs to be heard.” As a prequel, be sure to check out his HBO Max special, Colin Quinn & Friends: A Parking Lot Comedy Show.

After a full day exploring West Village, retreat into your brand-new luxury apartment home at RiverHouse 9 in Weehawken, NJ. Interested in learning more, schedule your tour!
